Doodles . . .

For some reason I find it easy and fun and delightful to sketch... but when it comes to putting colour to paper I freeze and it takes something to get me out of my paralysis.

I did the flower below and was somewhat disgusted that I make everything so tight and stiff...

So when I woke this morning I rolled out of bed, sat up to my art table and just 'threw' some paint on another sheet of paper. I had a flower and a couple buds lightly sketched in but the watercolours washed much of that away. If you look closely you will see that this free flowing colour is really flowers...

Truly, I am working hard on loosening up my pictures. Wish me luck!

It made me smile, so that must be good, right?
